Build a house with one euro
“If you can't feed a hundred people, then just feed one” These profound words from Mother Theresa were famously spoken many, many years ago. She is no longer with us but her message lives on and it is more relevant, more critical than ever.

Because every day 25, 000 people are dying around the world from hunger; 18,000 of them are children.
Right now we can not save them all, but right now we can save some.
Same Child, Same Care This baby was born with no Hope. Parents could not feed her and for years could not walk like other children of her age. We found her (picture on the left), and Jomelos Care made the difference (Picture on the right). We believe that one little care makes a difference. We Believe that we can not save everybody but one little care will always save a life. Every life counts. If we can save one we can save all. It could be one child but one care counts.
Same child, same HOPE This child who could not eat nor walk, now has hope to live, go to school and even become the future leader of her country. She can hope, and trust that the future is bright. Jomelos aims to bring this same Hope to many. This same hope that met this kids can come to many without hope. Join Jomelos to bring the same Hope to the hopeless children in Ghana.

The Challenge

As a Non-Profit making Organization, the very prominent challenge we face is finance. Since the organization does not embark on any income-generating activity, funds for running the day-to-day activities of the organization are a problem. A whole lot of good programs were outlined for the year in retrospect, but due to lack of sponsorships, many of them were not carried out. Much was not seen in our area of adoption, (Bowohombodzen), mainly due to lack of human resource (staff), transportation medium (vehicle), and communication equipments. Again, due to these same factors, new fields of interest were not explored, i.e. matters concerning child right and child abuse were not adequately dealt with.

Mission

Jomelos Save Life Organization is a non-profit organization which has as aim to bring hope to orphans and deprived once in Ghana and Africa.

There are many children in Ghana today have who lost their parents because of HIV/Aids and other issues. There are also many children in Ghana who need help in order to live. These children need shelter, food and better education to survive in the society. Part of Jomelos mission. Part of Jomelos’ mission is to Foster these children.

We believe that in every child there is a Talent which needs to be developed, nurtured and carefully managed, in order to bring about social balance and productivity in them. That’s why we have come out with an idea to build an orphanage for the orphan and homeless children under the care of Jomelos.

JOMELOS is a

  • Faith – based Christian Organization
  • NGO (Non – Governmental Organization)
  • Non-profit Organization.

Jomelos Community

Jomelos now has another volunteer from the UK

Zina Lewis, from the UK, is now in Ghana working with Jomelos as a volunteer.
She started working for Jomelos from June 2009 and it has been a big help for the
organization. She has already organizeda lot of activities on behalf of Jomelos
running very well. She is quite energetic and has restructured some of the
departments of Jomelos.

Motto: "Putting Women And Children First"

For us to have a better world, we need a better generation. For us to have a better generation, we need to have well brought up children. But everywhere, our children are facing disease, poverty and child abuse. How do we tackle these challenges?
Together, let us fight disease, poverty and child abuse. Be amongst the first to save the life of a child.

JOMELOS is guided by the Bible Scripture in Isaiah 58:7-11.

Foster Adoptation Plan

Have you ever seen the faces of poor, needy, starving children on television and just wondered: “How can I help them?”  JOMELOS offers you several ways to do this, one way is the Foster Adoption Plan. There are many children in Ghana who don’t have their parents alive, mostly because of HIV/Aids. There are many children who need the help of somebody out there to survive! We look for Foster Parents who want to support a needy child, by a monthly donation of 20 Euro/Dollar.

What can I do?
With a monthly support of 20 Euro / Dollar you can be a Foster Parent of 1 child and help to supply in his specific needs (food, education, medical health etc), in order to survive. When sponsoring a child, you will receive letters and pictures from the child. Since many houses and people don’t have a real address, JOMELOS will pass on all your mails to the child, and make sure communication with the child is possible.

You will soon realize that you are making a life – changing impact!

Where is my money going to?
JOMELOS will receive monthly 20 Euro / Dollar on it’s account from you. Of course you would like to know what is going to happen with your donation!

We have decided that we will not transfer your money straight to the parents or guardian in the form of cash money. JOMELOS will rather investigate the greatest needs of your Foster Child, and provide help in material goods. Depending on the specific situation of the child this can monthly defer, and can vary from food, to clothing, school fees, uniform, books, medical care … whatever is needed at the moment.

I want to be a foster parent!
If you want to apply as a Foster Parent, please contact the nearest JOMELOS office. They will send you an application form, in order to get your data and personal requests. According to your own preferences (gender, age), JOMELOS will suggest a child to you that will benefit greatly from your help!

We will give you information on the child, together with a picture. We will ask you than to transfer monthly the amount of 20 Euro / Dollar to the JOMELOS account. We would also request your own picture (of you and/or your family). The child will receive your data, and will be asked to contact it’s new Foster Parents. From then the communication line is open, and you will hopefully share a lot together!

Mother: dead            Father: dead
Story Rosemond is 13 years old. She went to school before, but stopped in class 1. Rosemond’s father recently died. Her mother is also dead. Rosemond stays with her grandmother, who needs to take care of 3 children. The 63 year old grandmother used to sell, but stopped after the death of Rosemond’s father. She used all the money for the father’s funeral. In the morning Rosemond gets 500 cedis (0,05 euro) for the whole day. She has no school uniform, shoes, or other clothes. She has only 1 dress and bathroom slippers. Soon her situation will change, since we found nice Foster Parents in Belgium, who want to make a great impact on Rosemond’s life!
